Coronavirus Precaution Reference at Gastroenterology Associates of Gainesville, P.C.

Effective Monday, May 4, 2020 our offices will re-open for in office clinic appointments and Infusion appointments. The Ambulatory Surgery Centers and procedures will resume on Monday, May 11, 2020. Procedures that are deemed urgent/emergent will be performed on a limited basis the week of May 4, 2020. With the reopening our offices will remain diligent in taking measures to prevent the spread and exposure of COVID-19 by following the most current CDC regulations. For our patients who cannot come into one of our clinic locations we will continue to offer telehealth visits. 

What is a telehealth visit?

A telehealth visit is a HIPAA-compliant two way audio and visual conference call hosted by  This service will allow all new and established patients to complete an office visit from the comfort and safety of their own home. Office Hours:

All clinic offices will resume normal business hours effective Monday, May 4th, 2020. The Ambulatory Surgery Centers will resume normal operation hours Monday, May 11, 2020.Providers and staff are available to assist patients and referring offices during this time. Our office is committed to providing quality digestive care during this pandemic.
Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Preparing our Office:

These are the steps that we are taking to protect our patients and our staff:
  • Anyone entering our facility will be screened using a questionnaire and temperature check. Upon completion of the screening, they are given hand sanitizer or asked to go in the restroom and wash their hands before proceeding past the front entrance
  • The staff has been instructed to wipe down all surfaces every 30 minutes throughout the day
  • All staff will be screened using a questionnaire and temperature check. Staff have been instructed to stay home if they become ill.
  • All staff will be required to wear a mask when in the office.
  • Staff and patients that have been instructed to report to the office are being kept as far apart from one another as possible.
  • We have stopped all non-essential guests from entering our facilities.
  • No visitors will be allowed in with a patient, unless the patient is a minor.
  • All patients will be telephone screened before their appointments.
  • All patients on the schedule for a procedure at one of our Ambulatory Surgical Centers will be required to complete a COVID-19 test prior to their procedure date and are being asked to wear a face covering of some type when entering our facilities.
We will update these processes as necessary.  

If You Feel Sick:

If you have a fever and cough or difficulty breathing, we are requesting that you do not present to the office. Please contact your Primary Care Physician or visit your nearest Urgent Care or Emergency Department for evaluation.
