COLONOSCOPY

A endoscopic procedure performed by a gastroenterologist to exam the inner lining of the colon. The procedure provides a visual diagnosis (Colon Polyps, Lesions, Ulcerations) and grants the opportunity for biopsies to be taken from suspected cancer lesions as well as randomly to diagnosis chronic diseases of the colon (Colitis or Crohn’s Disease). A report is generated by the physician whom reviews the biopsy results from pathology to make an accurate diagnosis.
